The titles and victories that Arnold Schwarzenegger achieved during his bodybuilding career are immaculate. He was the benchmark for the rest to achieve greatness. But, one shouldn’t keep him on top of relationship goals. Although he became a successful investor, a terrific action-hero movie star, and an able governor, relationships seem to not be his strong points. Fans know his several shocking stories with various women, and one incident sends shivers down their spines. 

It happened with his Red Sonja co-star, Brigitte Nielsen, whose book exposed various illicit affairs involving Arnold. Both embarked on a passionate affair on the movie sets as they were dating different people. The pointers that came out, turned out to be shocking as Nielsen was dating Arnold’s biggest rival, Sylvester Stallone. 

After Arnold and Nielsen’s undying chemistry in the movie, their relationship proceeded to real-life while dating different people simultaneously. During that time, Arnold dated Maria Shriver, and Nielsen admitted to not knowing about their relationship. Nielsen dated Sylvester Stallone and married him shortly after ending her affair with Schwarzenegger.

 However, they ended their marriage after two years. The book revealed some detailed episodes of what happened during their relationship, and how Nielsen and the Austrian Oak never held back. 

The book ‘You Only Get One Life’ detailed how the pair hit off after sensing a flirty atmosphere in the air after meeting the former bodybuilder. “I was naturally very flirty and maybe there was already something there because of our roles in the movie, I don’t know: we were supposed to be in love on screen,” said Nielsen. 

They plunged into each other and romantically explored every facet of their relationship. “We wanted to try everything and so we did. There were no restrictions, no promises, nothing, and it was a great time in my life,” said Nielsen. 

Like Nielsen, the Terminator actor admitted to his brief affair with his co-star when Arnold’s autobiography, ‘Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story,’ came out. At that moment, Arnold Schwarzenegger realized he wanted to marry Maria during his affair with Nielsen. The distant future looked far from interesting for Arnold on a personal level.

The pair married in 1986, had troubles in their relationship, and Shriver filed for divorce in 2011 as Arnold disclosed how he fathered a child with their household staff.
